Fleetwood Paints story dates back to 1950 on Marlborough Street in Dublin’s City Centre, when Mr. Doyle and his sons, Brian and Conor, perfected the art of making high quality paint brushes-by hand. These brushes received acclaim In Ireland and abroad, and with this incredible success they opened their first factory in Cabra, before moving to a two-acre site in Inchicore, Dublin 8. In 1971 Fleetwood Paints opened a factory in the place they now call home, Virginia Co. Cavan.
The Doyle brothers had an incredible passion for colour and design and felt there was no paint to match the high standard of the brushes they were producing so they made their own! The first can of Fleetwood paint came off the production line in Virginia on January 12 1979 and ever since then Fleetwood products have been developed to be of the highest quality with the very finest of ingredients. With continued investment in research and development, Fleetwood are dedicated to ensuring that the paint produced is not only rich in colour, but rich in innovation.
The people behind the paint are a huge part of the Fleetwood story, as it’s a family run and owned business, it’s not unusual to find two generations of the same family working in the company. “We have a really good team around us,” says Conor’s son Alex, the third generation Doyle to work at Fleetwood. “We are one big family and we always have been.”
A proud member and supporter of Guaranteed Irish, Fleetwood is sold in almost 400 stockists throughout Ireland and Northern Ireland with all their products fully 2010 VOC compliant. The impact on the environment is at the forefront of every decision Fleetwood as a business makes. Their green credentials to maintain a happier and greener home can be viewed on Fleetwood.ie.
