Nestled in the heart of Ranelagh village The Gerard Byrne Studio is home to one of Ireland's leading contemporary artists. The studio offers the unique opportunity to not only experience a state of art gallery space and exhibition, but a window into the artist's studio space, to see Gerard at work and gain a greater understanding of his practice. The Gerard Byrne Studio, Fine Art Gallery was established in 2017, upon Gerard's return from London.
Gerard Byrne is a contemporary Irish artist who has been painting for over 30 years. His landscape and architectural works take us on an insightful journey through some of the most spectacular vistas, in his native Ireland and on his foreign travels. Gerard's frequent plays on perspective are one of the most exciting aspects of his compositions. Equally, it is thrilling to probe into his figurative works. The sheer scale and powerful depictions presented within these works have made him one of the most exciting figurative artists on the contemporary scene in Ireland today. The speed and spontaneity with which Gerard works is demonstrative of a talent which has given him the confidence to take his work in such diverse and complex direction.
